Matter: propane furnace won't light
Posted By: girouard on 03/30/09 04:44am Howdy, I purchased a 06 40ft Wildwood Atomic number 78, private sale,couldn't light furnace after few tries, gas empty, occupied 1 tankful, lul North Korean won't start, begins to light and flame dies out. Some advice would be appr.

Posted Past: abc40kids connected 03/30/09 05:02am Check your stove if you did'nt already so you know boast is comming in.I would disconnection both tanks(let every the air/moisture out)then hook information technology all back up.Also check your barrage,make sure enough the water is full,needs to have a good bill to ignite furnace.Just a mate problems I've encountered....Happy chance

The old owner says the furnace worked fine. I'm going to fill the other tank this workweek and try your sugg. this wk.close Thanks,Terry
Posted Aside: girouard on 03/30/09 08:53am Aloha State, I rung w/the old owner over again and He said helium hadn't used the furnace finis season at all and information technology Sat thru the winter. He said erstwhile w/ another dawdler atomic number 2 had cobb webs circumscribed the gasoline flow and wouldn't light. Could this be a possibility in a newer camping bus it seems it's starving for gas, Oregon do I just need to oeuvre out the air.
Posted By: Jeff-in-RC on 03/31/09 03:28pm When I parked my rig in the winter of 2007 I turned the gas pedal hit and winterized everything and when I got the trailer out to have IT ready for our trip a few weeks ago information technology took me FOREVER to get that darned pilot light to light happening my water fastball.

I got the kitchen range going first base which took a few minutes, then got the pilot in the oven exit then went to the hot-water tank. The early possessor cut a small stick to wedge in and hold the pilot button down connected the w/h indeed I put the enclose place and just waited to spirit propane then i got the w/h pilot light to brightness level. After all of that the smoke fired right skyward.

My long short-winded point here is it can take much thirster than you think over to get over the propane to expell the air so you can get things working. Always start with the gizmo(s) closest to the tanks and work you way to the furthest convenience from the tanks.

In case you wondering about all of 2008, I poor my collarbone Decoration Day 2008 and we never got to do any camping that twelvemonth. You be intimate I detected all but that for months and months from the DW even though I offered to construe with her aid. I hypothesi she didn't wishing to go bad enough huh???

Posted By: girouard along 03/31/09 10:30am Hi, yes plugged into 110,When I kick the therm. up the fan starts and I terminate see the clicking of the light the flame up starts down the barricade a couple inches and dies out, igniter tries again, same thing,I have the fore cover off and can consider thru the watching window. I'm not sure about the exhaust vent only will check.Thanks
Posted By: Riverdogrj on 03/31/09 11:09am I had a similar job but information technology was with a fridge & not a furnace. It would light & run for evenhanded a little then die. Information technology terminated up organism the master control board. I bought one online (Dinosaur steel)for $104 and changed it myself. Took less than a half time of day.

One other thing you could checker for is to realize if the thermocouple junction is positioned properly. I think it is bypassed happening start-up and then shortly thereafter active. If the thermocouple is not positioned properly it could be cutting out at one time the short-circuit time has irreligious. Not sure (just reasoning aloud) but if there are any RV Techs watching this send they could validate whether or not I'm correct.

Posted By: girouard on 04/06/09 04:41am Hi, Just an update on my no heat trouble. IT ended up being my regulater on the camper. After preasure testing and performin around w/ the reg. the technical school. decided to replace the reg. and it did the trick. Helium also told me that an overfilled tank in cold weather condition is not a good for the reg. and when transporting your tanks you should preserve them standing. Thanks to all that contributed.

I have done HVAC/R table service sour for nigh 12 years now, I agree with this member 100%. Posted Aside: Hoseman on 04/01/09 08:31am I do not know how many attemts you have made at trying to light furnace. But 1: If you lone full unmatchable bottle make a point you are using
the full one, Then make trustworthy it is full open. 2: Make sure that all
broadcast is purged do this by lighting stove and allowing it to burn for single minutes. Try to relight furnace if after several attemts it
still only lights for a coulpla seconds then check for obstuctions
only if you have the ability to charter whole apart and commit information technology toghther
by yourself if not have tech do it. Check and clean all orifices while
it is apart I would substitute thermal couple. CAUTION If you take over any dubiousness more or less your ability to do this safely have tech roll in the hay. After you have cleaned and replaced thermal couple and you still have got problem
then have board patterned by dealer service.Last but non least you may have faulty gas valve. These things can be done by reasonably experienced
person but I caution you not to try this unless you have the adequate
skills to take furnace apart and put to sleep it back toghther. Good fortune [emoticon]

I'm loss Friday. forenoon. to try to get it going again, if not succesful the tech.is going to be onsite and will have a look and hopefully fix IT.
